These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Muse Hair Studio website and to appointments and services you book with Muse Hair Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the website or booking a service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or book through it.
We have tried to write these Terms in plain language. If anything is unclear, please contact us. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) or any other law that cannot be limited or excluded.
This website is operated by Muse Hair Studio.
We describe our services as accurately as reasonably possible. Hair is personal, and results can vary depending on your hair type and condition, previous colour or chemical treatments, your aftercare and other individual circumstances. We will talk through what is realistic for your hair, but we cannot guarantee a specific result.
Photographs on this website are for inspiration. Where a change is better for your hair if done over more than one appointment, we may recommend doing it in stages.
Our prices may change from time to time. Where a price is not fixed, for example because it depends on your hair length, thickness or the time and products a service needs, we will tell you the applicable price, or a reasonable estimate, before we begin wherever reasonably practicable.
If it becomes clear during a service that the price will differ materially from what we told you, we will discuss it with you before continuing. All prices include VAT where applicable.
All appointments are subject to availability. Bookings made through our website are confirmed once you receive our confirmation email.
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. You can use the link in your confirmation email, or let us know by phone, WhatsApp or email.
If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or do not arrive for your appointment, we may charge a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the booked service. Where we have taken a deposit, it will be applied to this fee.
The CPA allows you to cancel an advance booking. Any cancellation charge we apply must be reasonable, and no charge may be imposed if you are unable to keep the appointment because of your death or hospitalisation.
Appointments are planned so that each client gets the time their service needs. If you arrive late, there may be less time available for your service. We may need to shorten, adjust or reschedule the appointment so that other clients are not affected. If you are running late, please let us know as soon as possible.
Before a colour, lightening or other chemical service, please tell us about any previous colour (including home colour and henna), chemical treatments such as relaxers or smoothing treatments, allergies, known sensitivities and any reactions you have had to hair products.
Where appropriate, we may recommend a consultation or a test before the service. We may postpone or decline a service if we reasonably believe it would not be suitable or safe to go ahead. This is a hair care assessment, not a medical assessment. If you have a medical condition or concern, please seek advice from a medical professional.
Please give us accurate and complete information relevant to your service, including the information described in section 8. Please also follow any aftercare advice we give you and let us know promptly if you have a concern about your service.
We accept card, EFT and cash. Payment is due at the end of your appointment.
Your rights under the CPA apply to our services. You are entitled to have services performed in a manner and of a quality that people are generally entitled to expect. If you are not happy with a service, please tell us as soon as possible so we can look at it with you. Depending on the circumstances, we may offer to correct the service or refund a reasonable portion of the price, as the CPA provides.
If you buy services electronically through this website, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”) may give you additional rights. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the CPA, ECTA or any other applicable law.
To raise a concern, please contact us, ideally within 7 days of your appointment, on 076 260 2730 or at info@prowebdesign.co.za. Where appropriate, we will invite you back so we can look at your hair in person.

We take reasonable care when providing our website and our services. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this website, including temporary unavailability or inaccuracies in website content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where that would be unlawful, including liability for gross negligence, or limits any right or remedy you have under the CPA. Where a loss results from inaccurate or incomplete information you gave us, for example about previous treatments or allergies, this may be taken into account as far as the law allows.
We process personal information in line with our Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. Our use of cookies is explained in our Cookie Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. This does not affect your right to approach any consumer protection body, ombud, tribunal or court that has jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms when reasonably necessary, for example to reflect changes to our services or to the law. The updated Terms will be published on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. Changes will not apply retrospectively to appointments already confirmed, unless the law requires it.
